Earth’s Embrace

A Day Retreat for Women

Saturday, October 22nd

9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST

Hopscotch House, Prospect, KY

Buffet Lunch and Snacks cost per person: $15

Maximum participants: 15

Whether myth, biblical truth, or wish, we hold within us the story of Creation. Our bodies are made of molecules from stars that exploded millions of years ago, and our spirits remember the paradise that resulted from the breath of the Divine. The Earth is our first mother and we long to return to her embrace, to her sacred place. Such holy remembering takes time and intention. It requires that we spend time with meadow and stream, along sunny paths or in shady woods―wandering, pondering, listening.

If returning to nature speaks to your spirit, join your intentions with ours at Hopscotch House on October 22nd. We will spend time with Christine Valters Paintner’s thoughts from “Earth, Our Original Monastery,” with music and listening, in contemplation and creativity including a Soul Collage experience.

In keeping with the spirit of the retreat, we will provide a vegetarian lunch, buffet-style with vegan and gluten free options, and healthy snacks throughout the day for $15 per person. Materials for creative exercises will be provided, but please bring a journal to assist you in gaining the most from the day. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, along with non-refundable meal cost. Masks are required while indoors. (Directions to Hopscotch House and details of food provided will be sent to registered participants closer to the date – if you need to supplement the meals with food that meets your dietary requirements, there is a kitchen on site.)

We thank the Kentucky Foundation for Women for their sponsorship of this program and generosity to women artists and contribution to positive social change in our World.

Mary Sutherland

Mary is a mixed media artist who believes that everyone has an artist inside them. We just need to relax and let ourselves play. The art of collage has always appealed to Mary because it is so simple yet satisfying. After connecting with the World of SoulCollage© she was hooked and trained to become a certified SoulCollage© Facilitator. She is ever so grateful to share SoulCollage© with communities hoping they fall in love with scissors, glue, and magazine images as their hearts take them on their own journey.
